I first met Emmy Rossum on a Vanity Fair shoot when she was just a teenager: She was having her portrait taken for the magazine after making waves in Mystic River with Sean Penn. Since that first meeting, we’ve worked together closely and I’ve been fortunate to travel the world with her. We’ve experienced a lot together and Emmy has been a loyal friend—and much like a little sister to me.
I’ve admired her ability to thrive in an industry despite having started out at such a young age. She’s also one of the smartest people I’ve ever met: I love doing her makeup for a press junket and watching her give interviews because she’s so eloquent and never misses a beat. Plus, she has gorgeous skin and can pull off so many different looks—creatively, she’s been an inspiration for me whether she’s in a red lip or a smoky eye. In short, she’s a total dream to work with.
